Now that we have a break in the cold weather hubby decided to take the older kids for a nature walk! The -25C windchill’s we’ve had the last few weeks are just to cold for little ones. Well it’s to cold for ME to! They had a wonderful time looking at the deer and finding different tracks. Afterward it was time for hot chocolate!
It’s a big change from our fall nature walk you can also see one of our winter walks from last winter.

This is a sulfur spring, it’s a really interesting nature study area. In the summer because of the sulfur water bugs don’t lay their eggs there. It also runs year round with out freezing.

Kid’s found some mouse tracks!

I have not seen deer like that – I guess I am used to our white tailed red deer (or some such, pretty common) Yours look like elfin deer and so tame!

The one with the white spots is a fallow deer, the other ones are white tailed deer. They are very friendly! They are kept at a sanctuary area of the conservation park. The kids love that they will come so close.
they are sure sweet. If we lived near there, my kids would need to see them often!
We dont see any wildlife here anymore. Too much hunting pressure. We do see animals outside but thats just our goats and llama and chickens!
Great pictures. I LOVE nature as well. You look like you were really close to the dear…wonderful
I miss being in snow and such cold beauty! It looks like you had a wonderful day out.
Oh what a lovely area of the world you live in! Too cold for me though. I’ll send Jemimah and her daddy out with your kids, and you and I can snuggle up at home and drink some of that delicious hot chocolate that just came up on your site on Link Within. Off to check out that recipe now in case you want me to make it when I come…
Have a nice weekend.

Sounds great to me! I’m not much of one for the cold weather either. I would much rather be in by the fire with some hot chocolate!
What a wonderful walk! Beautiful.

Beautiful! Wish we had a bit of snow like that around here! Thanks for sharing!
