Fall is my favorite time of year. I just love all the pretty colors, and our home is filled with the scents of pumpkin and apple treats baking.

But sometimes, it’s nice to have that lovely scent when you’re not busy working in the kitchen. There is a really easy way to bring scents that remind you of fall into your home whenever you like them.

How To Make A Room Spray From Essential Oils

It’s so easy to make your own room sprays using essential oils.

First, you will need a glass spray bottle. I really like these ones because they are glass and don’t have the nasty chemicals that plastic bottles do.

They are also a dark glass and give UV protection to your mixtures inside so they last longer and don’t have to be stored in a dark place.

You will also want distilled water to use as a base for your room sprays. It dilutes the essential oils making it easier to spray.

Next is witch hazel or vodka because essential oils won’t mix with water on their own. Adding either of these will help your room spray mix up nicely.

Simple Room Spray Recipe

• 6 oz of distilled water
• 2 oz of witch hazel or vodka
• 30 drops of essential oils (up to 30 drops of a mixture of oils suggested below)
• 8 oz spray bottle
• Small funnel

Add the water and witch hazel to your spray bottle, then add your essential oil scents. Using a tiny funnel like this one makes the job so much easier!

Put the lid on and shake well to mix up your room spray. Store the spray at room temperature and spray your rooms a few times a day as needed.

Vanilla has always been one of my favourite scents. Making a vanilla room spray is perfect for fall but it can also be used any time of the year.

Adding some simple scents to the vanilla will make a lovely fall like room spray.

Fill your spray bottle with distilled water, then add some vanilla extract. Next add a little clove oil, cinnamon oil, and orange oil to the distilled water.

• 2 oz of witch hazel or vodka
• 15 drops vanilla EO
• 5 drops clove EO
• 5 drops cinnamon EO
• 5 drops sweet orange EO

If you’re looking for a classic fall scent, then you will love this one!

Just like with the other room sprays, fill your spray bottle with distilled water it helps to dilute the essential oils and make it really easy to spray in your rooms.

To the distilled water add some witch hazel, cassia essential oil, and clove essential oil.

Next, you can customize your autumn harvest room spray to be sweet or citrus smelling.

If you would like a sweet-scented spray then add some vanilla. If you would rather have a citrus scent then add some tangerine or orange oil.
