On March 2nd we heard their was a wind storm heading our way. This was part of the huge storm system that hit the Southern USA hard. We woke up in the morning to no power. We weren’t very surprised by that and found out not long later that a tree near town had taken down some hydro lines. Our power was off for 6 hours but many areas were off much longer. Thankfully with our wood stoves to heat and cook with it wasn’t such a big deal.
What was interesting about the winds was there was little wind a long the ground. It seems that the winds were staying about 50 feet above the house.
