We were busy this past weekend getting our Christmas decorations up! Hubby had Dd9 out last week to do some birthday shopping and they came home with a REAL tree this year. The kids were so excited to have a real tree this year! We still have our old artificial tree and the kids helped set that up in the sun porch a few weeks ago when my back was out. They thought it would cheer me up. Awww so sweet!
My little Christmas village is set up in the living room this year. The only place we could find room for it was around the T.V. So far the little ones haven’t played with it to much. LOL
A few pics of the kids decorating the tree. Except for putting up the lights the kids did ALL of the tree decorating themselves.
One of my favourite Christmas ornaments is this little Cardinal. I bought this my first Christmas with hubby.
Our Christmas tree all light up at night.
The kids also had fun making candy Christmas Trees. We took candy ice cream cones and coated them with icing we had dyed green. Then the kids decorated them with smarties. So cute and yummy!

Thanks! I have some plaster houses I need to get around to painting. They've been on my to do list for a while!
Yup there are a few older breakable ornaments we put up high on the tree to. Other than that the kids love doing the rest!
Thanks Stacie! We've done the candy trees a few times this season. The kids just love making them!
I love your tree and village, it is so nice!! We have a village too, it is my hubby's actually, we bought him the pieces, a new one each year. Now Devin paints him plaster buildings and we use those as well!
I love that the kids decorated the tree. That is what we do, as well. I hand out the ornaments and they hang them, except the ones that need to go up high and my husband takes care of those. I also like your holiday village. I think we will need to do the edible trees; they look like fun! – Lori
I really love seeing villages. My mom has a little Christmas village that has really pretty lights on it. The kids did a fantastic job on the tree. I love the idea of the Christmas Trees at the end. Going to save that idea next year for my Girl Scouts Troop.
