Materials Needed

- Paper trimmer or scissors: Cut the cards apart using scissors or a paper trimmer. Both options work great, but a paper trimmer is faster.
- Clothespins or manipulatives: Prepare clothespins or small, safe objects like pom poms or erasers for children to mark the correct number on each card. Always supervise young children and ensure the objects are safe for them to use.
- Storage container (optional): Keep the cards and clips tidy and organized in a box or plastic container.

Next, cut the cards apart using your choice of scissors or a paper trimmer.
If you want to use this math activity multiple times, then laminating the cards will help them last longer.
Finally, select the manipulative you would like your child to use with their math activity. Clothespins are a great choice, but mini erasers, playdough, cereal, or pompoms all work well for kids to mark the correct number.
