- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 1 clove garlic finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 7 slices of bread
- 2 medium tomatoes sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese
Add the butter, chopped garlic, salt, pepper, basil, and oregano in a small saucepan. Turn it on to medium-low heat to melt the butter.
While you wait for the garlic butter to melt, place your bread slices on a baking tray.
When the butter has melted, stir the mixture well and spoon it evenly over the bread. Then, place one or two slices of tomatoes on top.
Sprinkle shredded cheese over top of the tomatoes, and if desired, you can also sprinkle some fresh or dried herbs on top of the cheese. Some extra basil, oregano, or parsley are great options.
Place the garlic toast into the oven and bake until the cheese has melted and the bread is toasted to your liking, about 8-10 minutes.
