Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups diced onion
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 24 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 cups cheddar cheese shredded

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup Miracle Whip
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons honey dijon mustard

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, add 1 cup of Miracle Whip, 4 tablespoons of ketchup, and 2 tablespoons of honey dijon mustard.
  • Mix well, place in the fridge to keep cool, and let the flavors develop.
  • In a small saucepan, melt two tablespoons of butter over low heat and add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of oregano.
  • Stir it and keep it warm on low heat until needed.
  • Add 1/2 a tablespoon of vegetable oil to a large skillet and heat on medium-high heat. Then add 2 pounds of ground beef and break it up with a spatula or meat chopper.
  • Season the ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper.
  • Cook over medium-high heat until the ground beef is cooked through. Then drain off the extra fat from the meat.
  • While the beef is cooking in a separate frying pan over medium heat, melt 1/2 a tablespoon of butter.
  • Then add your diced onions and stir to coat in the butter. Let cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and a light brown color, about 15 minutes.
  • Spread the sauce on the bottom of the rolls.
  • Then, top with the cooked ground beef, caramelized onions, shredded cheese, and pickles.
  • Place the top layer of buns overtop and baste the tops with garlic butter.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes or until warmed through.

Notes

  • Covering the sliders with foil is optional. They will heat through faster, but the tops can get crispier.
  • To store leftovers, let them fully cool, then transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge.
  • Reheat by microwaving for about 20 seconds until they are warmed through. To reheat in the oven, place them on a lined baking sheet and cover with foil. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 350.
