Whip up easy cheeseburger sliders in under 30 minutes! Perfect for parties, game day, or kid friendly dinners. Quick, cheap, and packed with flavor.
Some days are so busy that time just flies by, and before you know it, dinner time is almost here. That’s why having lots of quick and easy dinner recipes on hand is so important and saves you from turning to takeout.
Simple recipes like homemade sloppy joes, turkey salad, or baked pasta are perfect for getting dinner on the table fast. But sliders are always one of my go-to meals if I want to get dinner ready quickly and keep it budget-friendly.
These easy cheeseburger sliders are a kid-friendly recipe perfect for lunch or dinner. Plus, they are great options for serving at parties or potlucks. This recipe makes a large batch but is easily cut in half.
You can easily prep these sliders up to a day ahead of time and then bake them when needed. This makes planning dinner so much easier when you know you will have a busy day.
How To Make Cheeseburger Sliders
Step By Step Directions
Preheat your oven to 350F.
In a small mixing bowl, add 1 cup of Miracle Whip, 4 tablespoons of ketchup, and 2 tablespoons of honey dijon mustard.
Mix well and place in the fridge to keep cool and let the flavors develop as you work on cooking the meat.
To make the garlic butter in a small saucepan, melt two tablespoons of butter over low heat and add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of oregano.
Stir it and keep it warm on low heat until needed.
Add 1/2 a tablespoon of vegetable oil to a large skillet and heat on medium-high heat. Then add 2 pounds of ground beef and break it up with a spatula or meat chopper.
Season the ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper.
Cook over medium-high heat until the ground beef is cooked through. Then drain off the extra fat from the meat.
While the beef is cooking in a separate frying pan over medium heat, melt 1/2 a tablespoon of butter.
Then add your diced onions and stir to coat in the butter. Let cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and a light brown color, about 15 minutes.
Cut your buns in half and place them into a 9×13 baking dish or on a baking sheet.
Spread the sauce on the rolls, then top with the cooked ground beef.
Add the caramelized onions, shredded cheese, and pickles.
Add the top layer of buns back on and brush the tops with garlic butter.
Cover with foil and bake in your oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until warmed through.
Substitution Notes
Miracle Whip: Miracle Whip, also called whipped dressing, is what I grew up using, and I really like the zesty taste better than mayo. But mayonnaise also works great in this recipe if you prefer that.
Hawaiian Rolls: I love using Hawaiian rolls to make sliders. They have a slightly sweet taste and soft texture even after baking. But you can substitute any of your favorite dinner rolls.
Toppings: If you aren’t a fan of pickles or caramelized onions, switch them out for your favorite hamburger toppings. Some yummy ideas are crumbled bacon, pickled hot peppers, red onions, jalapenos, or tomato slices.
What To Serve With Sliders
You can serve sliders with french fries, sweet potato fries, potato salad, garden salads, coleslaw, and onion rings. Your favorite dips and sauces also make a great side. Try adding some cheese sauce or ranch dressing.
How To ReHeat
These sliders reheat great. You can warm them in the microwave for about 20 seconds until they are heated through and the cheese has melted.
Another easy way is to place them on a parchment-lined baking tray, cover them with foil, and warm them in the oven at 350F for 10 to 15 minutes until they are heated through.
