Serving Size 24 rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of warm water
  • 3 Tbs. sugar
  • 3 tsp. yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 to 3 1/4 cups of all purpose flour

Instructions

To Make In A Bread Machine

  • Combine all ingredients in the order specified by your manual and select the dough setting.
  • Form into rolls and place on greased baking sheet 2 inches apart. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Place the dinner rolls onto a greased baking sheet or a 9x13 baking pan. Then cover them and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  • Place the dinner rolls into a pre-warmed oven at 350F and bake them for 20-25 minutes. When they are golden brown on the top and cooked through remove them from the oven and baste the tops with melted butter.

To Make By Hand

  • In a large mixing bowl combine your warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir it together and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the melted butter, salt, and eggs. Once they are well mixed then start adding the flour a little at a time so that it mixes together well.
  • Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and knead by hand for 10 minutes. The dough should be slightly sticky but easy to handle.
  • Transfer the dough into a greased bowl and cover the dough and let it rise until it has doubled in size.
  • Punch the dough down to deflate it. Then pull off sections of the dough and form it into rolls. I just do this by eye but you can weigh each roll to make sure they are exactly the same size if you like.
