Turkey is a must for our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I always enjoy cooking up a nice big turkey, it means we will have lots of leftover turkey meat that makes for easy dinners the rest of the week.
Yes you can simply heat up leftovers for dinner the next few days. I’ve done that often, and there is nothing wrong with it at all. But sometimes you or your family start to get a little tired of the same dinner every night.
Thankfully, there are lots of leftover turkey recipes that are so easy to make they are sure to become family favorite recipes.
If you don’t plan on using up all of the leftover meat within 4 days, then freezing the extra turkey meat is a great option. Simply remove the meat from the turkey carcass and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
Then measure the cooked turkey meat in the portions you use most often; I like to use 2 cup servings and place it into freezer bags. Label and date them and freeze them until you are ready to make a turkey casserole, soup, or another favorite dinner.
Don’t forget to use the bones to make a delicious turkey stock, too.
