This is my family’s favorite Caesar salad dressing. It’s thick and creamy and tastes so much better than any store-bought dressing I’ve tried.

It’s perfect for tossing with lettuce for a classic Caesar salad or using as a dip or spread. You can keep it thick and creamy or thin it out a bit if you want a more pourable dressing.

Traditionally, Caesar dressings are made with raw eggs and olive oil, but this one has a mayonnaise or whipped dressing base, so it’s quick to make, and you don’t have to worry about raw eggs.

You also don’t need to keep anchovies or anchovy paste on hand to make this. I use Worcestershire sauce that contains anchovies. This gives the dressing the classic Caesar taste without the fish overpowering it, so even my picky eaters love it.

Recipe Notes & Tips

  • Use Miracle Whip or mayonnaise – This is a mayo-based Caesar dressing, so you can use either Miracle Whip or mayonnaise, depending on your preference. Miracle Whip will be slightly sweeter, while mayonnaise gives a more classic flavor.
  • Adjust the thickness – This dressing is thick and creamy. If you prefer a more pourable dressing, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Let it chill if you have time – While it can be used right away, letting it sit in the fridge for an hour helps the flavors come together.
  • Adjust to taste – You can easily tweak the flavors by adding a little more lemon juice for tang or extra garlic powder for a stronger flavor.

Substitutions

  • Miracle Whip – You can use normal mayonnaise if you prefer, or homemade mayo or whipped dressing.
  • Garlic Powder – You can substitute fresh garlic. 3 cloves finely minced works great.

Serve With:

  • Caesar salad
  • Caesar pasta salad
  • Burgers

I made this easy recipe exactly as stated above. Next time as suggested by the author, I will mince 3 cloves of fresh garlic and add 1 to 2 tablespoon of olive oil.
Then I will add everything to a magic bullet and blend it to make a smoother dressing.
Thank you and everyone in my family loved it!
