Ingredient Notes

Make sure to check the recipe card for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

  • Flour: I use all-purpose flour for these cookies.
  • Eggnog: You can use store-bought or homemade eggnog. It’s a great way to use up leftover eggnog.
  • Egg Yolks: Using just the yolks instead of the whole eggs makes these cookies chewier.
  • Butter: I use salted butter to add a rich, buttery flavor and moistness to these cookies. If you want to use unsalted butter, then I’d suggest adding 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the recipe.
  • Sugar: Both white and brown sugar are used to sweeten the cookies and create a rich flavor.
  • Spices: Nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla help to bring the warm holiday flavor to these cookies.
