If you need an easy dinner that feeds a crowd, these BBQ chicken sliders are always a hit. They’re packed with tender shredded chicken, tangy BBQ sauce, and lots of melty cheese, all baked on soft Hawaiian rolls.
They’re perfect for potlucks, game days, or large family dinners. They also work great on busy weeknights when you already have cooked chicken on hand. Just layer everything, brush with garlic butter, and bake until warm and cheesy.
Ingredients
- 24 Hawaiian rolls
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 medium red onion, sliced
Garlic Butter Topping
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 1-2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon oregano
How To Make BBQ Chicken Sliders
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. Lightly grease two 9×13 baking dishes, or use one large baking sheet if that’s easier for you.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once it’s melted, stir in the minced garlic and oregano. Let it stay warm on low heat while you assemble the sliders.
In a medium bowl, mix the shredded chicken with BBQ sauce until it’s evenly coated. I like to use my homemade BBQ sauce, but you can use whatever sauce you have on hand.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half, keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom halves into your prepared baking dishes.
Spread the BBQ chicken mixture evenly over the rolls. Layer the sliced red onion on top.
Then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over everything.
Place the top halves of the rolls back on. Brush the tops generously with the garlic butter mixture.
Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
Remove from the oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.
