Ingredient Notes

Make sure to check the recipe card for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

  • Zucchini – Medium-sized zucchinis work best for this recipe. Look for ones that are firm with smooth skin and no soft spots. You can cut them into rounds or half-moon shapes. Yellow zucchini or yellow squash also work perfectly in this recipe.
  • Vegetable Oil – It helps the seasonings to stick to the zucchini slices. But also to help the zucchini turn a nice golden color. You can also use olive oil.
  • Salt – It enhances the flavor of the zucchini and other seasonings.
  • Black Pepper – It adds a mild heat and warmth to the dish and really helps to season the mild-tasting vegetable.
  • Garlic Powder – It brings a savory, garlicky flavor, but is easier to hide from any picky eaters. You can easily swap it for onion powder or Italian seasoning to change up the flavor.
