Ingredient Notes

Ingredients to make pineapple dream dessert in bowls including graham cracker crumbs, whipped topping, cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and crushed pineapple.

Make sure to check the recipe card for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

  • Graham Cracker Crumbs – These make the buttery, slightly crunchy base that gives the dessert its structure and classic flavor. You can use store-bought crumbs or crush your own.
  • Butter – Melted butter combines with the graham cracker crumbs to form the crust. It adds richness and helps everything to hold together. It’s also used in the filling to add richness and a smooth texture.
  • Cream Cheese – It gives the filling its creamy, slightly tangy base. Softening it ahead of time makes mixing much easier and helps the filling to turn out nice and smooth.
  • Powdered Sugar – It sweetens the filling while keeping it light and fluffy. It dissolves easily into the cream cheese mixture without making it taste grainy.
  • Crushed Pineapple – It brings the signature tropical flavor, just make sure to drain it well so the filling doesn’t get watery.
  • Cool Whip or Whipped Topping – Folds easily into the filling to give it that airy, light, dreamy texture.

FAQ

You can use homemade or store-bought whipped cream for the filling, but it won’t hold up as well as the whipped topping does. If possible, try to find stabilized whipped cream.

I’ve only used canned crushed pineapple in this recipe. I don’t know if fresh fruit would work the same.

I usually use salted butter, but both will work well. Just use whatever you have on hand.
